David Francis Tuckman Honored by Cambridge Who's Who for Excellence in Public Relations
Mr. Tuckman is a recipient of the Global Young Advocate Award in 2007, Mr. Tuckman also received the Student Media Arts Mini-Pulitzer Award, the Presidential Student Service Award and the Congressional Award Gold Honor Medal for public service.


    NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CA, November 26, 2008 /Journalism and Writing News Articles/ -- David Francis Tuckman, President & Director of Public Information and Media Relations for the San Fernando Valley Chapter of the United Nations Association of the United States of America (UNA-USA), has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of public relations.

A public relations specialist, Mr. Tuckman is responsible for consulting with the board of directors and promotes foreign policies as well as humanitarian services. He began serving the organization while in college and worked his way up as a result of his hard work. A recipient of the Global Young Advocate Award in 2007, Mr. Tuckman also received the Student Media Arts Mini-Pulitzer Award, the Presidential Student Service Award and the Congressional Award Gold Honor Medal for public service. In Summer 2007 he was one of four Americans selected by Rotary International as a US Goodwill Ambassador to the Netherlands in Journalism/Media where he met with International Criminal Court representatives at the Hague and was published in the Dutch major daily Rond Haaksbergen. Having served as both a national and international correspondent, Mr. Tuckman has published various articles on US-UN relationships.

Mr. Tuckman received his Bachelor's Degree in Journalism from California State University in 2004 and his Bachelor's Degree in Political Science, International Relations and Communications from the University of California Los Angeles in 1999. He received certifications in homeland security from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and is pursuing an Emergency Management Certification through the Professional Development Series (PDS) from the Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) Emergency Management Institute (EMI), Emmitsburg, MD. Mr. Tuckman also serves on the Los Angeles Chapter Red Cross Disaster Services and Mass Care committees and holds the rank of Captain leading a Red Cross Disaster Action Team (DAT). His service in Red Cross includes emergency shelter operations, California wildfires, Hurricane's Katrina and Rita, among others.

Mr. Tuckman was recognized in 2008 by Red Cross with the Special Citation for Exceptional Volunteer Service. Mr. Tuckman has been recognized by the California Secretary of State with the Great Seal of the State of California, Governor's Commendation, Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition and he is a Phi Theta Kappa, Friedman Scholar, Devol First Amendment Law Scholar and Alcott Scholar. Mr. Tuckman serves on the National Leadership Council of Young Professionals for International Cooperation (YPIC), the young professionals section of the UNA-USA.
