Brianne Corcoran Inducted into Cambridge Who's Who
Brianne Corcoran works on spreading the newspaper she has established to many universities
CAMBRIDGE, NY, January 26, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Brianne Corcoran, Managing Editor of The New Islander, Student at Harvard University, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in writing.
As a managing editor for The New Islander, Ms. Corcoran specializes in writing reviews. She started The New Islander with her partner a year ago, during her freshman year at Harvard University. Together, she and her partner edit the submissions they receive from students in schools across the country. Ms. Corcoran co-wrote the mission statement, and she recruits writers and bloggers for the first intercollegiate national conservative literary E-Zine. In addition to writing for The New Islander, she has contributed to The Harvard Crimson. She enjoys having her voice heard, and she attributes her success to setting high ambitions and working diligently to achieve them.
Ms. Corcoran is currently pursuing her Bachelor's Degree in Romance Languages, with a focus in Portuguese, at Harvard University. She obtained a diploma from Bay Shore High School in 2008, and she is a member of the American Medical Athletic Association. In her spare time, she volunteers for Phillips Brooks House Association and tutors through the Boston Refugee Youth Enrichment program. In the future, she aspires to expand the New Islander to reach other universities.
