These internal audits survey patient and staff satisfaction and Interior Health was the first regional healthcare facility to become accredited.

Interior Health has also implemented lean strategies for the last several years as a tool to conduct kaizen events to reduce waste within their system. "We're currently at a pivot point to determine the best ways to covert these lean strategies as a tool for embracing our management system and also make it part of our business' culture to enhance the engagement of our staff and build trust with our patients and within our organisation," Lommer says.
