SAN DIEGO, CA, October 22, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- In a report in Construction Digital Magazine, Rob Greno, General Manager of the Penticton Indian Band Development, discusses how the corporation oversees first-nation local businesses and fosters the development of a lucrative economy for the Indian Band.
Since its formation, PIBDC exclusively owns - about 99 percent - two limited partnership companies: landscaping supplier and trucking company Westhills Aggregates and river rafting tourism attraction, Coyote Cruises. Since them, the Development Corporation has set up a utility servicing agreement with the City of Penticton, formed a land taxation authority, proposed new infrastructure to prepare for future developments and started the construction of a $10 million community school, salmon hatchery and office building and new residential and business developments.
"We provide assistance in training and education to entrepreneurs, starting from business name searching, registering their business for a license and within the province and any other essential, day-to-day requirements even after the business has been established," Greno says.
