Virginia J. Johnson celebrates 40 years in the field of education

CELESTE, TX, November 18, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Virginia J. Johnson, Retired Teacher from the Princeton Independent School District and the Fort Worth Independent School District, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership, and excellence in education.

Ms. Johnson has 40 years of professional experience and retains an expertise in reading and mathematics. She credits her career accomplishments to her self-motivation and the examples of her parents. Currently, Ms. Johnson enjoys raising Purebred Black Angus cattle on her 56-acre Texas farm.

A graduate of Texas Wesleyan University, Fort Worth, Texas, she received her master's degree in education in 1989. Ms. Johnson has her published thesis on the shelves at the library of Texas Wesleyan University. The title is: The Effects of a Literature Approach to Reading on Comprehension and Attitudes Among Sixth Graders.

Ms. Johnson received the Outstanding Teacher of the Year Award in 1996, from Fort Worth Independent School District, and Teacher of the Year in 1997, from Princeton Independent School District. In her spare time, she reads extensively in all areas, is active in The Cotton Patch Quilt Guild in Greenville, Texas, and volunteers for her local church. With her myriad of interests, Ms. Johnson continues enjoying her retirement.
