Matthew C. Wiencke Honored by Cambridge Who's Who for Excellence in Healthcare Journalism
Matthew C. Wiencke writes articles for Dartmouth Medical School's alumni magazine
LEBANON, NH, April 23, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ --Matthew C. Wiencke, Writer and Editor for the Dartmouth Medical School Office of External Communications and Pianist for Bel Canto Chamber Singers, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in healthcare journalism.
A man of diverse interests, Matthew C. Wiencke is considered an expert in healthcare journalism, science fiction writing, and piano performance. As a writer and editor, he lends his talents to Dartmouth Medicine, the alumni magazine of Dartmouth Medical School and Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. In these capacities, he is responsible for interviewing doctors and researchers, managing data, and publishing articles about various educational, research and clinical activities on campus. Mr. Wiencke brings to the magazine eight years of experience as assistant editor for Dartmouth Medical School Publications.
Also an accomplished musician, Mr. Wiencke plays classical and swing piano for Bel Canto Chamber Singers, a small chorus with a broad repertoire that covers medieval and Renaissance works, baroque cantatas, classical music, and contemporary pieces by local composers. In addition to providing accompaniment, he often plays piano as a featured soloist.
Mr. Wiencke earned masters credits in English literature at the University of Vermont and received a bachelor of arts in English and music in 1991 from St. Olaf College. He is affiliated with the Ivy-Atlantic Medical Alumni Magazine Association and the Association of Health Care Journalists. He has been honored with numerous writing awards by the Association of American Medical Colleges, most notable of which is an Award for Excellence in Electronic Communications in 2008. Within the next five years, Mr. Wiencke hopes to play a vital role in the expansion of Dartmouth Medicine, enhancing its external communications and increasing its online presence.
