Lillian E. Hesketh Honored by Cambridge Who's Who
Lillian E. Hesketh recognized for 37 years of service in library science

LAKELAND, FL, June 09, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Lillian E. Hesketh, retired Research Librarian for Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in library science.

Over the span of her prodigious 18-year career in library science, Lillian E. Hesketh made invaluable contributions to Edinboro University of Pennsylvania as a Research Librarian. During this tenure, she served as library science department chair and rendered student services pertaining to the field. She received several accolades for her demonstrated excellence in education, including membership in The World's Who's Who of Women in Education, nomination to the PSEA's Professional Standards Committee and membership in Who's Who in Library Service, as well as multiple teacher of the year awards.

Today, Ms. Hesketh draws upon her research expertise to manage scholarship programs for the Estates at Carpenters. Recently, she published a history of the 20th anniversary celebrations of the Carpenters Home Estates. Ms. Hesketh's work with the Picture Committee and Scholarship Committee of the Estates at Carpenters is just her latest as an active member of her community. In 1979, she served the Pennsylvania Citizens Committee for Landscape Improvement; in 1978 she volunteered for Lions Clubs International, and in 1973, she was a deacon at United Presbyterian Church. Now, she continues to maintain affiliation with The Phi Beta Kappa Society, Kappa Delta Pi and Estates at Carpenters.

For her professional success, Ms. Hesketh credits her parents' support. She holds a Master of Art in education from Allegheny College, a Master of Library Science from The University of Utah and an A.B. degree from Westminster College. She has completed coursework in education, Spanish, journalism, library science, elementary education and instructional development.
