A four-time recipient of the Teacher of the Year Award from the Plainfield School System, Albert J. Musmanno enjoyed a fruitful 41-year career as an educator. He spent most of his career with the Plainfield Board of Education, where he specialized in the sciences. He is also a published author who has written science songs and poems in order to make learning enjoyable for students. Mr. Musmanno's philosophy is: "The magic of rhyme will make learning easier most of the time." His book represents this philosophy.

Though officially in retirement, Mr. Musmanno continues his involvement in the academe by consulting on curriculum, hands-on science workshops, and other related issues. He spends time judging science fairs in Plainfield and is presently participating in community work by operating a carnival-type fundraiser for his church. Additionally, he is in the midst of writing a book about fundraising for school systems and groups as well as another book containing poems and songs about science. He attributes his success and longevity to two of his two role models: Mr. Jones, his high school biology teacher, and Dr. Peck, the head of the Center for Elementary Science at FDU.

Mr. Musmanno received a master of education in science in 1982 and a bachelor of arts in science in 1968. He is a certified science teacher (K-12) through the State of New Jersey.
