A seasoned healthcare veteran, Dr. Charles R. Shuman is a recognized expert on diabetes treatment and nutrition. He gained over 67 years of experience prior to his retirement and became prominent among his peers—he was listed in approximately 200 articles and eight medical textbook chapters on the topic of diabetes nutrition.

Formerly the president for the Philadelphia County Medical Society, Dr. Shuman, now retired, was affiliated with The Endocrine Society, the American Diabetes Association and the American College of Physicians. He holds an MD concentrating in general internal medicine from Temple University.
