Guy Junker has received six Emmy awards for his proficiency in sportscasting and writing
PITTSBURGH, PA, September 20, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Guy Junker, Talk Show Host for ESPN Radio, Sports Director and Anchor for WTAE-TV (ABC), has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in broadcasting.
Guy Junker hosts a midday talk show for ESPN and anchors the 6 and 11 p.m. sports for WTAE-TV. He has been working as a sportscaster at the local and national level for more than 30 years. He felt this career path would allow for him to combine his passion for sports and writing. He attributes his success to his perseverance, hard work and determination.
Outside of his on-air roles, Mr. Junker works as a licensed real estate agent for Howard Hanna Real Estate Services. Looking ahead, he hopes to expand his involvement in the real estate exchange industry.
Mr. Junker received his Bachelor of Journalism from The Pennsylvania State University, conferred with high distinction, in 1978. He also received his Certificate of Foreign Broadcast Studies from the University of Manchester, England in 1978. He is a member of the USA Hockey Coaches Association and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA). He has received six Emmy Awards for hosting and writing, "The Penn State Football Story." He also won the Chris Schenkel Award for his work covering college football, and a Golden Quill Award as host of "Steelers Extra." In 1986 he was named to "Outstanding Young Men of America."
